Marcus is a Commercial Lawyer specialising in Technology and Privacy Law.Marcus advises on a broad range of technology matters including transactions and disputes regarding SaaS and other cloud products, procurement and integration of software, managed services, master service agreements, e-signature legality, copyright and intellectual property disputes and licensing arrangements.
Marcus also holds significant experience in matters involving privacy law and data security, and has assisted clients with privacy advice, drafting privacy policies, data breach notification, regulatory compliance as well as practical business approaches to data security.
In addition to his expertise in technology and privacy law, Marcus also has a broad commercial law background, with experience in areas such as the sale and purchase of businesses of various sizes, commercial leasing, shareholder agreements, non-disclosure agreements, subcontractor and distribution agreements, NDAs and corporate compliance issues.
Marcus works closely with Principal Lawyer Alex Ninis. Together, they act for a range of clients including multinational technology companies and start-up technology companies in the Asia Pacific region as well as companies acquiring large complex technology systems.
When he's not in the office, Marcus enjoys reading, writing, playing basketball and listening to music (generally hip-hop). Marcus is a die-hard fan of the Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA) and the North Melbourne Kangaroos (AFL).
